Advanced Technology Associates represents FMC Invalco in the states of Ohio and Michigan.
The Turbine Flowmeter was derived from the basic design ideas used with turbine engines and pumps. In 1965, INVALCO designed and manufactured ball bearing turbine flowmeters. The ball bearing design required the measured fluid to be clean and free of any solid material such as sand, grit, scale, etc., and to have the lubricity of gasoline or better. These requirements limited the number of liquids that could be measured successfully.
Shortly thereafter, INVALCO designed a sleeve bearing meter which employed tungsten carbide as the bearing material. Not only did this new bearing design require no lubrication, but corrosives and dirty liquids containing abrasive particles could be measured with no difficulty. The W-Series Turbine Flowmeter with tungsten carbide sleeved bearings was promptly placed into test service on many oilfield applications and became a great success. INVALCO has continued to improve this design and expand it's capabilities over the years and now has one of the highest quality turbine flowmeters on the market. Thousands of field installations have shown INVALCO's Turbine Flowmeters to be the most durable available.
In recent years, INVALCO has expanded on their product line to include the MP Series Oscillating Piston, Positive Displacement line of flow meters in sizes 1/2" thru 2 " and the DP Series of Insertion Flow Transducers for lines 1.5" thru 100".
